Rock Hall Nominees Announced!
KISS, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Genesis, and LL Cool J are among those up for induction.

Greasepaint and tube socks can go a long way. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation this morning announced that KISS -- KISS! -- and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with Genesis, LL Cool J, the Hollies, and reggae star Jimmy Cliff are among this year's batch of nominees for induction into the Rock Hall of Fame.

On May 8, JJ Abrams' Star Trek will introduce a new generation of fans to Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, and the rest of the crew of the Enterprise. Featuring a young, sexy cast -- and a decided lack of Shatner -- Abrams' franchise reboot will attempt to entice moviegoers to boldly go where they may never have gone before: a Star Trek film.

The Kinks are the latest to join the recent reunion trend. The '60s legends, who last performed together in 1996, have been working on new material. "We've started a little bit of this and that," singer Ray Davies told BBC News, adding, "but it is too early to judge the quality.
