Fiona Apple Announces Full Summer ’12 Theater Tour

If you thought those six quick East Coast dates last month were all anyone would see of Fiona Apple this year before her appearance at New York’s Governor’s Ball in late June, you must be awfully pessimistic. The singer-songwriter, whose first album in seven years comes out this summer, has deemed it safe to announce a full-blown, 27-date, North American summer tour, kicking off in Ithaca, New York and wrapping up at the end of July in Hollywood.

In case you hadn’t heard, The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do drops June 19 via Clean Slate/Epic Records. See the title in Apple’s own handwriting! Apple also drew the illustration that appears on the album’s cover. Check out one of the new songs, “Anything We Want,” that she debuted at her SXSW sets last month. A new song, “Every Single Night,” will be released on April 24 when the LP becomes available for pre-order. Fiona Apple 2012 Summer Tour Dates:
