Brooklyn MC Dyme-a-Duzin Wines and Dines in Sly ‘Body on Me’ Video

Dyme-a-Duzin in his video for "Body on Me"

Dyme-a-Duzin has been signed to Warner Bros. since 2011, which gives you an idea of the 20-year-old Brooklyn rapper’s perceived commercial potential. With his new single “Body on Me” he may be close to fulfilling that promise — the song is slick and radio-ready, with Dyme singing a catchy little chorus. Despite the MC’s affiliation with Joey Bada$$’s throwback-or-die Pro Era crew, “Body on Me” splits the difference between baby-faced R&B (like Mindless Behavior) and post-Drake Auto-Tune crooning (like Kirko Bangz’s “Drank in My Cup”). There’s also something a bit sly about the concept: The track’s title moves you to have a preconception of violence, only to be about PG-13 sex. The video is similarly… cute, as Dyme dances and dines with a girl.

“Body on Me” is presumably off of a forthcoming project, but Dyme is still riding the wave of his January mixtape A Portrait of Donovan, which features previous single “New Brooklyn.”
