Cocktails Fight the Doldrums of ‘Adult Life’ in New Video

Cocktails

San Francisco’s Cocktails play grown-ups who are desperate to break out of the desk-job rut in their new music video. The Cassandra Lee Hamilton-directed clip comes in support of “Adult Life”—the wistful title track from the band’s recently released debut album on Father/Daughter Records—and finds the office drones dressed in their best ’90s-business-casual attire. After hanging up the phones and throwing away their briefcases, the reinvigorated Cocktails transform into colorful costumes and perform their instruments, which magically appear. A peppy Moog synth line pulses in the background, but the song grapples with the fears of most twentysomethings: jobs, student loans, and, most of all, getting older.
