Street to Nowhere, California Bound
Around 8:30 A.M. on Saturday (June 9), we all stumbled down the stairs from our hotel room and into the van. Bryce was drumming on the steering wheel and singing wildly as he drove, the rest of us holding on tight to consciousness. We pulled into the backstage parking lot at Shoreline Amphitheater, the first band to arrive as usual.

On Saturday (June 9) we played Live 105's BFD festival in San Francisco. It was an incredible break from the reality of this current tour, playing in front a few thousand people in our hometown with some amazing bands. I'll talk more about that in my next post, but for now I'll fill you in on what's happened since Las Vegas, where I last left off...

Street to Nowhere Take Nothing for Granted
I left off last time with us arriving in Lawrence, Kansas. We managed to get a hotel room that afternoon and stretched our legs and minds out from the three-day van ride before heading to the club. As we were loading our gear through the back door, we caught our first glimpses of the guys we'll be spending the next few weeks with.

I'm walking out the door of the truck stop with a fist full of quarters. A little girl in pajamas is walking in, looking lost, still caught up in sleep, out of place. She shuffles by me timidly as I hold the door open for her. It's a little after 1 A.M., somewhere in the desolate middle of Nevada.

On the Road with the Format: Nate Says Farewell
Remember that really shitty song, "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday?" I think it was by Boyz II Men. Quite the popular junior high dance song it was. I vaguely remember standing in the corner, wearing a green silk shirt, wishing a girl would ask me to dance every time that song would come on. So why, on this lovely Sunday, is it stuck in my head?

Well, my jolly green army, the tour is rounding itself out and we will be home in a few days to bake in the Arizona sun and to prepare for a little jaunt to Spain. The tour with Guster has been an enlightening experience this time around and I'm thankful Spin.com gave me a forum for my "blosts."
