What do you do? I'm a freelance photographer. I worked as Damon Dash's personal photographer for over a year and I got to go everywhere with that man.

Elhaam Yavari, events manager

Elhaam, 24, plans events for her NY-based company's roster of bands, which includes artists like Bloc Party, the Futureheads, the Streets, and more.

What do you do? I work for the Musebox, a creative music marketing company. I'm in charge of all club marketing and events (listening parties, after-parties) for our client roster, which includes Bloc Party, Whirlwind Heat, Boy Kill Boy, the Futureheads, the Streets, and more.

Sean Ryan, comic books assistant editor

"People think I just talk about what would happen if Hulk fought Captain America, but that's only partially true," says Sean Ryan, referring to his gig at Marvel Comics.

What do you do? "I'm an assistant editor at Marvel Comics. I work specifically within the X-Office where we put out 12 X-Men comics a month. Since everyone who writes, draws, colors, and letters the books doesn't work in-house, we make sure all parts of the issue come together on time."

Jessica Rubin, events coordinator

Jessica helps launch the careers of young artists by coordinating killer events for them.

What do you do? "I work as an event coordinator for the L.A. office of Gen Art, a non-profit organization that supports emerging artists in fashion, film, music, and art by helping them achieve the exposure they deserve.

Robbie Lackritz, tour manager/sound engineer

Robbie's from L.A., but he doesn't see it much while he's on the road with Feist, Rilo Kiley, and Jamie Lidell.

What do you do? "I am a tour manager, currently with Jamie Lidell, and a sound engineer. The main artist I tour with is Feist, who I'm also engineering for right now, and I spent most of the last couple of years on the road with Rilo Kiley. Recording-wise, I helped build a studio with Brad Wood, who has produced Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair, Pete Yorn, and about 500 records."

John Fischer, cultural strategist

John predicts the future -- but not as a palm reader. His consulting firm tries to forecast attitudes and trends in pop culture.

What do you do? "I work for a boutique consulting firm called Infinia Foresight (IF) where my job is equal parts anthropology and business strategy. We decode the underlying patterns of culture to predict what the next five to ten years will look like.
