Stone Temple Pilots Map Spring/Summer Tour

Who: Reunited alt-rockersStone Temple Pilots, fronted by former Velvet Revolver mouthpiece Scott Weiland, and also featuring guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, and drummer Eric Krentz.

What: A 42-date spring and summer tour, slated to begin at Columbus, OH’s Rock on the Range Festival May 17, and continue across North America, dropping into cities like Chicago, Las Vegas, and Hollywood, as well as festivals like Baltimore’s V-Fest and Seattle’s Bumbershoot. The second half of the band’s tour, scheduled to continue into fall, will soon be announced.

Should I go: Yes. If last night’s (April 7) secret performance at Harry Houdini’s former mansion in the Hollywood hills (more!) is any indication, Stone Temple Pilots are ready to kick back and roll out the hits. And as always, Scott Weiland’s slithering stage antics and classic rock star appeal is worth the ticket price. Plus, come on, have you heard Tiny Music… Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop?
