The lyrics to "Modern Diet" could be read as the Redwalls' preemptive defense: "They say it's all been done before / And there's really nothing new / I guess that's just your point of view." That song actually dials back the Brit Invasion influence on this irretrievably unoriginal -- yet ultimately sorta likable -- Chicago band, replacing it with a bit of White Stripes-style bluesiness. But there's no escaping that it's all been done before, from Lennon to Davies to Casablancas, and with miles more style.
