Phoenix, 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' (Loyaute/Glassnote)
Doff your captain's hat to Parisian pop-rock rakes.

These arch Frenchmen make precision-tooled pop that somehow retains a sense of urgency and playfulness -- an impressive balancing act consistently slam-dunked by effortlessly ingratiating choruses. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (what an effing title!) opens with two near-perfect prototypes, the gloriously sunny "Listzomania," and its crisper, quicker cousin, "1901." Nothing quite matches that salvo, but the atmospheric, Air-indebted "Fences" and yacht-rockin' "Girlfriend" come close. There's even an epic, mid-album palate cleanser (genial comedown "Love Like a Sunset") that counteracts any potential bliss overdose.

I agree with Dannyfin but I have got to say where is the mention of Lasso which i think is arguably the third best song in the album? Well everybody makes mistakes and this can be forgiven but what about the album being third, not bad but not accurate enough if you ask me it should be no.1 no arguments, I don't mean to be rude but how many albums get reviews like this one did, I think you know the answer to that one (if you don't know where to find reviews just check it up on Wikipedia, there are plenty of reviews there)
But then you look at some websites and what a crock of s**t it is you have people who don't even f@(king like this kind of music reviewing it, it just doesn't do it justice, thats about all I have to say but I could go on, just one more thing is that I cannot wait for their next album to be released weather it be 2010 or even 2012, thank you for reading my post and comments are welcome
hands down, best album of 2009!.Peace
Got something to say?
