New Toadies MP3: "No Deliverance"

Since Toadies frontman Vaden Todd Lewis spilled the beans to SPIN.com on the '90s alt-rock act's much-anticipated new record, No Deliverance (out Aug. 19), their fervent fan base -- including us here at Spin HQ -- have been anxiously awaiting a sneak peek of the long overdue set. Well, wait no more fans, it's finally here; Lay your ears on "No Deliverance," the first album leak heard outside the studio walls.
With bluesy bass figures, Lewis' fuzzed-over, creaky voice, and a noisy, guitar-laden shout-along chorus, the tune surely rocks, but don't expect a recreation of the Toadies' 1994 smash, "Possum Kingdom." Here, the band swap the aforementioned hit's tuneful, melodic heights for grinding guitars and driving, hard rock renderings. Nevertheless, the fact that these guys can reunite and crank out strong material that's just as relevant now as it was then is a solid testament to their craft.

I love the rollercoaster ride the toadies bring to thier music. This song rocks!! It's refreshing to hear some good rock. Rock nowadays, it seems to me, is hard to tell the beginning and ending of songs. Yep, rock music today has left some of the rock out. I'll be at PK! Can't wait!
So much to say. Been following the Toadies very closely since since I first heard PK on the radio (went straight to the record store - only time I've ever been THAT hell bent on buying an album), some 12 or 13 years ago. My first REAL concert experience as a young pup, in Peoria. And then, after what seemed like a long wait, the excitement over the 'Hell Below / Stars Above' album and seeing them in Chicago, then the disappointment of no real support from Interscope and then Lisa ditching and the band calling it quits. Then I followed Vaden's music with the Burden Brothers - which, this was no halfass substitute - BB f'in ROCK....er....rocked. Kinda sad to see BB come to an end to be honest; maybe the chemistry between the band bretheren wasn't as close as they made it look at times, I dunno. The music sure as hell was GREAT. Saw them in KC Rockfest last summer and what a GREAT time. All I know is....thanks Vaden for putting the Toadies back together, to get an album and some shows in our very near future. It means a LOT to us die hards. To us, we never really stopped believing. We just had to put the possibility out of our minds so as not to drive ourselves mad anymore. Looks like the wait is over!!!!!

Toadies Tour starts tonight! It'll be neat to hear what people think about the new song live.
This new song, "No Deliverance", is amazing! I first heard the Toadies way back in '95. "Possum Kingdom" caused me to buy Rubberneck, but all the other amazing songs on that CD kept me listening to it time and time again. Throughout the 90's, I heard the Toadies on several more occasions, and they were always great. I heard the Toadies again in Ft. Worth this past Saturday night, and it was incredible! I will be purchasing it on the very first day it is released! If "No Deliverance" is any indication of what the rest of the CD is, then I can't wait!

The new song has a very bluesy vibe, but in a way only Toadies can bring it.

Great track. It sounds like the Toadies never left. I will be seeing a few of their shows in Texas coming soon, can't wait. SOOOOOO Glad this band is back, along with a lot of the other reunions that are happening right now, but the Toadies have a special place in my heart. Check out the title track off the new album out August 19th.

No Deliverance is in store TOMORROW!!! After seven LONG years, it's finally upon us! From what I've heard, the album is everything you'd expect the Toadies to create, pure, kick ass, Rock n Roll!
Anyone who hasn't needs to go out an buy the album "No Deliverance" today! Hearing one song, even though its an amazing song, does this band no justice. The Toadies really got back to the roots of rock and made on kick a** album.
