The A-side of this all-girl quartet's forthcoming 7" maintains with silly, lo-fi garage rock grooves.

On the heels of releasing their raucous, slaphappy debut LP S/T in fall 2007, Atlanta's grrrl punkers the Coathangers return with a limited edition 7" this spring, and thankfully the winter hasn't changed a sonic trimming. With A-side "Shake, Shake," the Coathangers' basic guitar slashes, bouncing new wave-esque keys, and witty lyrical attacks are all in full effect. "Once I had a submarine / But then they shot a hole in it / And then it sank sank / Oh yeah, it sank sank / Why does everything I love have to break break?" frontwoman the Crook Kid Coathanger, a.k.a. Julia Kugel, flippantly fires. Lucky, it's hard to break an MP3. Enjoy!
