The Kills Hit SXSW, Nationwide Dates in May

Dirty garage rock duo the Kills — Brit Jamie Hince and American Alison Mosshart — will hit the road this spring behind the release of Midnight Boom, and spread their infectious sonic fever across the nation. But not before they unveil the new record — the follow up to 2005’s No Wow — before fans and industry insiders at Austin’s SXSW March 12. Next, after a month or so apart, the two will reform to kick off their U.S. tour in Boston April 30. The outing’s opening duties will be split by Telepathe (MySpace) and the Childballads(MySpace), warming stages for the first and second half of the tour, respectively. Drum machines can get old, but if the Kills tag along a live band, this jaunt could be worthwhile.3/12, Austin, TX (SXSW)4/30, Boston, MA (Paradise) * 5/1, New York, NY (Webster Hall) * 5/02, Washington, DC (Black Cat) *5/03, Philadelphia, PA (Johnny Brenda’s) * 5/04, Montreal, Quebec (Cabaret) * 5/06, Toronto, Ontario (Opera House) * 5/07, Detroit, MI (Magic Stick) * 5/08, Columbus, OH (The Basement) * 5/09, Chicago, IL (Metro) * 5/10, Madison, WI (Annex) * 5/11, Minneapolis, MN (Triple Rock) * 5/14, Vancouver, British Columbia (Richards) # 5/15, Seattle, WA (Neumo’s) # 5/16, Portland, OR (Berbati’s) # 5/17, San Francisco, CA (Slim’s) # 5/19, San Diego, CA (Casbah) # 5/21, Los Angeles, CA (El Rey Theater) # 5/22, Phoenix, AZ (Brickhouse) # 5/24, Austin, TX (Parish) # 5/25, Dallas, TX (Cambridge Room) # 5/27, Nashville, TN (Mercy Lounge) # 5/28, Atlanta, GA (The Earl) #(* w/ Telepathe)(# w/ Child Ballads)
