Naming their second album for the patron saint of unstable outsiders and epileptics, Gang Gang Dance claim their fidgety place on the furthest realms of New York City rock, blasting through art galleries and infusing their spasmodic racket with relentless dance grooves. At times, their follow-up to 2005’s God’s Money frets too much about beat-matching various instrumentals, and the appearance of grime MC Tinchy Stryder on "Princes" underwhelms. But when the band wraps itself around singer Lizzie Bougatsos’ singular shrieks, they ascend to vertiginous heights on "Holy Communion" and "Dust Storm," creating something truly transformative.
