Who? Genre-defying quintet TV on the Radio, best identified by swirling, fuzzed-out instrumentation, inventive arrangements, and -- most notably -- frontman Tunde Adebimpe pitched vocals and core member Dave Sitek's guitar work, ethereal loops, and heavy-handed production gloss.

What? A 28-date outing behind the quintet's new album, the Spin-explored Dear Science. Beginning at Portland, OR's Musicfest NW Sept. 5, the jaunt -- toting Spin Breaking Out artist Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson and Motor City garage rockers the Dirtbombs -- will hit assorted West Coast cities before skipping across the nation for a trek through major Eastern Seaboard metropolises. From there, the heady fivesome will head West once again, wrapping in San Diego Nov. 8.

Should I Go? Absolutely. As TV on the Radio proved with Return to Cookie Mountain -- their sophomore set that garnered the band Spin's Artist of the Year cover -- these Brooklynites are atop the foremost creative echelon in today's music world. And their live set, which SPIN.com caught at Montreal's Jazz Fest, is certainly on par and just as inventive and awe-inspiring as the remainder of their canon.
