Grindcore guitar, industrial clamor, stentorian rhymes? Yep, it’s another Dälek album. But what this Newark, New Jersey duo lack in spontaneity and humor on their fourth full-length, they make up in intelligent intensity — the po-faced political essay “Spear of a Nation” pays homage to apartheid fighters in South Africa, and the proletarian anthem “Armed With Krylon” chronicles hip-hop’s unglamorous history. Refining Gutter Tactics‘ murky metal rap with subwoofer bass frequencies and fierce drum programming, MC Dälek and producer the Oktopus still find inspiration amid the noise.
