What? A 25-date tour beginning in Aspen, CO July 10. From there, George will stop into Las Vegas and California, including a two-date residency at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre. Next, the tour skips north of the border for a handful of dates, runs along America’s East Coast, and finally concludes with three shows in the Lone Star State.
Should I go? Why not? You’re bound to hear songs you recognize, as Boy George and Culture Club sold over 100 million singles and 50 million full-length albums in their 1980s heyday. Plus, George’s voice is truly one of a kind in its timbre, as exhibited by his stunning guest spot on Antony and the Johnsons’ “You Are My Sister.” Did we mention that he hasn’t performed in North America in a decade? Go for the hits, and stay for his rich vocal stylings.
