The Most Dangerous Race Ready to 'Signal to Noise'
When you pick up a copy of Spin's July issue on newsstands, a special surprise awaits: A free CD with ten covers of Smashing Pumpkins classics, presented by MySpace and Spin. While the street date of the July issue is almost a month away, you can start listening to these stellar tracks via each band's MySpace Page. Stay tuned to SPIN.com as we unveil each track from the collection throughout the next month.
Up next is the Most Dangerous Race, a Chicago-based foursome lead by multi-instrumentalist Matt Walker. Here, the band offers a powerful rendition of the previously unreleased tune, "Signal to Noise," a Zeitgeist B-side. "It's one of the songs that Billy was working on for Zeitgeist, but he thought it would work for me," explains Matt Walker, who toured with the Pumpkins as a member of Filter and later replaced Jimmy Chamberlin on drums. "Billy's in a very intense place right now. Even though he's my friend, I'm still always a little in awe of the guy."
Now Hear This: Listen to The Most Dangerous Races play the unreleased song "Signal to Noise" via the band's MySpace page.
