Up first: the New Amsterdams, the band founded by ex-Get-Up Kid Matt Pryor, and their cover of "Thirty-Three" from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. "I remember driving to Lincoln, Nebraska, to record my first seven-inch, listening to Mellon Collie, and the van breaking down on the side of the highway," recounts frontman Matt Pryor of acoustic emo rockers the New Amsterdams. "It got to the point where everything went so wrong I ended up screaming and laughing on the side of the road. Mellon Collie was the soundtrack to that."
