A 'Crazy' Lollapalooza Launch

Gnarls Barkley sends the crowd into a frenzy at the Spin-sponsored pre-Lolla party.

Gnarls Barkley -- or should we say the "Sam Cooks"? -- pulled out the diner gear for last night's Lollapalooza pre-party at Chicago's House of Blues. With all the girls dressed as waitresses, the guys as cooks, and Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo decked out as chefs, the band kept up the schtick for their hour-long set, playing most of St. Elsewhere and threw in a few covers, including an obscure Doors tune. Bud Light, Spin, CSE, CAP, and local radio station Q101 co-sponsored the party, so the drinks were flowing and people were dancing all night long. ERICA FUTTERMAN
