The Apache Beat's noirish, eerie vibe is no put-on. "I did a Halloween photo session with them and the bass player, Mike Dos Santos, just happened to have this bag full of witchcraft items and a book with a pentagram on it. And then later, we had a séance and tried to contact the spirits of dead celebrities." The band also has appeal beyond the supernatural. "[Singer Ilirjana Alusha] is gorgeous and stylish." Last Chants, the band's debut album, is due out in early 2010.
