Why they matter: Founded in the early '90s, the Quannum Projects record label is home to a bevy of beloved, indie rappers and producers. On July 3 at Rothbury, a Quannum collective featuring Lyrics Born (pictured), Gift of Gab, and Lateef will take over the Sherwood Court stage for two-and-a-half hours.
You should know: One of Quannum's freshest faces is Joyo Velarda, a spritely singer who brings to mind soul greats like Chaka Khan. She'll be guesting with Lyrics Born during the Quannum All-Stars set.
