Exclusive: Tegan and Sara's SPIN Shoot!

Hell
While these neighborly streets in L.A. offered ample space for bike riding, the neighborhood that inspired "Hell," the lead single off Sainthood, the duo's new album, is far from idyllic. Vancouver's Gastown was once referred to by a local paper as "Vancouver's Four Blocks of Hell." Tegan used to live there, and Sara maintains a place there so she can be near Tegan and her bandmates.

I'm from NZ toooo! I so wish they would make it worldwide!!! T&S are amazing :)
AW GOSH you have to make this world wide!
These photographs are amazing by the way.
the comment from their mom about fighting over the tape recorder reminds me of "Divided" from the album Under Feet Like Ours where they play an old recording of one of the girls saying "This is MY tape recorder!" and Sonia says "Yeah, talk like that so when you're 18 and you're listening to this, you can see what a brat you were"
