Sisterly duo Tegan (right) and Sara met up with SPIN photographer Darren Ankenman for a shoot to accompany their feature in the December issue, "Across a Crowded Womb." The photos in this gallery are all outtakes from that shoot, which didn't appear in the magazine and are exclusive to SPIN.com.

These photographs are amazing by the way.
the comment from their mom about fighting over the tape recorder reminds me of "Divided" from the album Under Feet Like Ours where they play an old recording of one of the girls saying "This is MY tape recorder!" and Sonia says "Yeah, talk like that so when you're 18 and you're listening to this, you can see what a brat you were"
