Thom Yorke has a problem. He loves playing live, but hates to tour (read more). So it's not entirely surprising that Yorke and Radiohead are eschewing the physical world for the Internet once again. Capping a year that included the digital release of In Rainbows and an ensuing series of webcasts, Radiohead will welcome 2008 (and the physical release of In Rainbows) with a live show -- broadcast online and Current TV.

According to a post to deadairspace.com, the Oxford-based boys "will be broadcasting a pre-recording of some songs and other bits on New Year's Eve." The broadcast -- which Pitchfork says will be a complete performance of In Rainbows taped in the band's Oxford studio -- is also "a wee celebration of the release of the physical manifestation" of the album, due in stores Jan. 1 via ATO.

What's more is that fans can catch the webcast on Current TV -- the network founded by fellow eco-preservationist Al Gore -- at 12 A.M. EST/9 P.M. PST as 2008 rolls in. Current's website will also archive the show for preoccupied Radiohead-heads -- well, at least the ones too busy guzzling open bar to locate a TV or computer at the stroke of midnight.
