Geeky, bespectacled frontman Alexis Taylor and his crew of dance party igniters, collectively known as Hot Chip, have revealed details for the follow up to 2006's The Warning. Made in the Dark, the third set from the Brit electro-poppers, will tentatively drop stateside Feb. 5 via DFA/Astralwerks, a band spokesperson confirms. Though a complete tracklisting is yet-to-be announced, the 13-track affair will feature tunes such as "Wrestlers," "Out at the Pictures," and "Shake a Fist," as well as "Bendable Poseable," "We're Looking for a Lot of Love," "Ready for the Floor," "In the Privacy of Our Love," and "One Pure Thought."

Coldplay Mixing Forthcoming Album

Now that Coldplay have collected the holy sounds and "vibrancy and colorfulness" of Spain's cathedrals, the band have hit the studio, mixing the forthcoming opus with producer Jon Hopkins (Brian Eno, Imogen Heap, King Creosote). " [Hopkins has] done a mix of a song for them, I think they're really happy with that," prolific Scot songsmith Kenny Anderson (a.k.a. King Creosote) said in a recent BBC 6Music interview, reports NME.com. "He's sitting in as their sort of guest keyboard player."

Nada Offer Free Download from New LP, Out in Feb.

New York-based indie rock mavens Nada Surf have announced the release of Lucky, the trio's fifth studio LP to date and follow up to 2005's The Weight is a Gift, due Feb. 5 via Barsuk. The album, co-produced by John Goodmanson (Death Cab For Cutie, Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney) and recorded in Seattle's infamous Robert Lang Studios, will, as previously reported, feature collaborations with Death Cab's Ben Gibbard and the Long Winters' John Roderick, as well as Brit rocker Ed Harcourt and axeman Phil Wandscher of Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter.

In celebration of the album's release, Nada Surf will perform a string of acoustic shows on the West Coast early next year before heading home for a pair of full sets. Until then, catch the band on tour this fall, or check out new album track "See These Bones," which hits Nada Surf's MySpace page today and can be downloaded.

Bowie-Influenced Clothing Line Target Bound

While Sonic Youth have tapped big name celebs and coffee giant Starbucks to dispatch interpretations of their tunes to the under-caffeinated, David Bowie has opted for another route to hit the masses: the clothing racks. Target has announced the arrival of a Bowie-influenced limited-edition men's collection, designed by British musician-turned-designer Keanan Duffty, slated to hit store shelves Oct. 14. The collection -- "Rocker must-haves," a Target release proclaims -- features tuxedo jackets and pants, dress shirts, and rocker tees, inspired by Bowie's film cameo in The Man Who Fell to Earth, as well as button-down shirts with skinny ties, apparently inspired by the rocker's "Let's Dance" lyrics. Oh, and don't forget the "ultra-hip skinny black jeans," which tie off the collection, arriving in the price range of $14.99-$59.99.

But for those not so keen on anything tagged "ultra-hip," Target has conjured a little added incentive: Strangers When We Meet, an exclusive Bowie compilation featuring previously unreleased material, as well as live versions of "The Jean Genie," "Young Americans," and "Word on a Wing" will be available to shoppers for $4.99.
