Sigur Rós to Release 'In a Frozen Sea'

Icelandic rockers offer book featuring exclusive imagery captured on the final leg of their 2006 world tour.

Iceland-bred art rock minimalists Sigur Rós will release In a Frozen Sea: A Year with Sigur Rós, a 32-page book documenting the homestretch of the band's exhaustive world tour behind their fifth album, 2005's Takk. Longtime Sigur Rós fan and music industry head Jeff Anderson culled the book's content, including exclusive photos, interviews, and video footage of the band in Iceland's striking landscapes, during Sigur Rós' string of free Icelandic concerts last summer. In a Frozen Sea will also be available as a limited edition vinyl package with select 12" vinyl LPs, including Ãgætis Byrjun, ( ), Takk, and Smaskifa -- only 5,000 copies will be pressed. Beginning June 1, fans can purchase the book from Artist in Residence's website and at select bookstores worldwide.
