This week: Alexis Krauss, 25, elementary-schoolteacher-turned-indie-rock-heartthrob as the singer of Brooklyn noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells. The band plays Coachella in mid-April, then hits the road with CSS beginning April 28 in Orlando.

FAVORITE SONG:
“‘I Follow Rivers’ by Lykke Li. ?While this may not be my favorite song of all time, it’s definitely my current obsession. Her voice is haunting, the production is flawless, and I can’t get the hook out of my head!”

FAVORITE NEW ARTIST:
Deathcrush. They supported us recently in Oslo and we invited them to join us for the remainder of our European tour. Imagine the sexiest, most badass chicks fronting a brutal Norwegian black metal band and you have Deathcrush.”

FAVORITE TV SHOW:
Twin Peaks. Since we finished our last tour I’ve been watching this late at night in marathon sessions. Each night I fall asleep hoping to be utterly weirded out by an epic Twin Peaks-inspired nightmare. Fire Walk with Me!!!

FAVORITE MOVIE:
Legend. It came out the year I was born [1985] and was a huge part of my childhood. I no longer worship fairies, but I still love it. Come on: Unicorns, Tim Curry as the devil, Mia Sara (um, talk about girl crush), and a pre-Scientologist Tom Cruise — what’s not to love?”

ESSENTIAL ITEM FOR TOURING:
“Cell phone voice recorder. I’m constantly writing on the road. This application allows me to record anywhere, from my bus bunk to the customs line at the airport.”

FAVORITE PIECE OF CLOTHING:
“1980s acid wash denim jacket. I purchased it at a vintage shop in San Francisco and recently had it decked out with a custom King Tut design courtesy of New York City-based designers Jezebel & Toff. It’s the only King Tut I know who rocks Ray-Bans and a charm necklace complete with pineapples, unicorns, hearts, palm trees, and crowns. You think I’m kidding!”

FAVORITE FOOD:
Fish tacos. I’m a sucker for tacos, especially when they’re filled with fish, cabbage, and crema. Grilled, battered, blackened, or fried, I’ll eat ’em up!”

FAVORITE PLACE ON EARTH:
“Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Speaking of fish tacos! Seriously, this place is paradise. It’s perfectly relaxing without being the least bit boring.”

FAVORITE MANTRA/QUOTE:
“–‘Work hard. Be nice.’ When I was still teaching it was the motto for my 4th grade classroom, but they are words to live by at any age.”
