Faith No More Unleash Scummy Single ‘Superhero’

Faith No More Superhero Sol Invictus Seven Inch Stream

Faith No More’s long-awaited reunion album Sol Invictus is set for a release on singer Mike Patton’s Ipecac Records on May 19, but before that they’ll return with another seven-inch teaser this month. Today, Ipecac has shared the A-side of that single, “Superhero,” on their Youtube page. It’s a strikingly scummy track, featuring the gritty slog of a distorted bassline and Patton’s prodigious vocal range on full display as the band runs through its typically dramatic twists and turns. The track debuted, appropriately, on Marvel’s website where Bill Gould says that the “pounding drums” and “throbbing pulse” of the instrumental lent the track it’s world-saving atmosphere and title.
