Twi the Humble Feather, ‘Music for Spaceships and Forests’ (Friendly Ghost)

For instant, painless stress relief, try the debut of this life-affirming trio, brimming with vigorous yet precise acoustic guitars, tinted by the faintest shade of electronics. More a collection of pleasing textures than actual songs, Music for Spaceships and Forests injects a double shot of cosmic giddiness via sweet, mostly unintelligible chanting, which could’ve been lifted from an arcane religious ritual. That said, Twi should stick to EPs like this brisk 25-minute mini suite and refrain from stretching out. A full album of such weightless sounds might be more numbing than soothing.
