Via Tania, ‘Moon Sweet Moon’ (The Hours)

Australian-born Chicago scenester Tania May-Bowers murmurs and coos like Björk’s goofy little sister on this alluring second album, which wraps wispy melodies in airy overdubs and features players from Tortoise and Shearwater. The languid “February” and the woozy, nine-minute “Home” threaten to induce a state of pleasant catatonia, but when she chirps, “You can’t get away” — either seductively or ominously — in “The Beginning,” she hints at the nervous tension within her deceptively pithy ballads.
