The very first YouTube Music Awards are currently underway in New York City and streaming live via — where else — YouTube. Tune in to see live performances by Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Eminem (think he’ll maybe, possibly lip-sync again?), M.I.A., Avicii, and more, including Tyler, the Creator, who recently criticized the show for being “BUTT.”
Awards are being handed out in six categories, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are eligible for four of them (Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, YouTube Breakthrough, and YouTube Phenomenon). Some of the other nominees: Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Atoms for Peace, Bat for Lashes, Justin Bieber, Rudimental, and PSY. Actor/musician Jason Schwartzman and comedian/musician Reggie Watts are co-hosting the 90-minute webcast, while filmmaker Spike Jonze plays creative director.
