After the lucrative four-way release of Smashing Pumpkins' "reunion" album, cashing a fat check for his Super Bowl advert., and plotting his money-making scheme to release new music, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has a favor to ask: Will you buy me lunch?

Wow, what a jerk, right? Wrong: It's all in the name of charity!
Charity Buzz is auctioning off the opportunity to dine with the rocker in Los Angeles or Chicago -- and the "winner" gets to foot the bill! Proceeds from the auction will help the Songwriters Hall of Fame build a museum in New York "to highlight the achievements of songwriting greats and acknowledge their rightful place in our culture."
The auction is currently underway with the price already upwards of $2,500. Act fast: the bidding closes June 30 at 1:17 P.M. EST.
According to Smashing Pumpkins' website, the dinner is "valid for two people at a mutually convenient time. Restaurant TBD." The best spot to feast with Corgan: How about Courtney Love's house? Or, better yet, an ice cream truck!
And remember, dear winner, you're paying the bill, so be sure ask the hard questions, like, "can I join the band?" Last time we checked Corgan was in need of a little help behind the kit.

Was there any truth to the rumor that he was **** Tila Tequila? lol SPIN your censors are so funny. Was there any truth to the rumor that he was ~*seeing*~ Tila Tequila?
I have been a hardcore Pumpkins fan (they are...er....were (?)) my favorite band. But this is getting ridiculous. First of all, the "band" consists of the Smashing Billy because he refused to give Iha his cut. Then Chamberlain bolts. and now all of the recent circus behavior by Corgan has me thinking he may be growing detached from the real world outside of his wealthy celebrity safety bubble. He has the luxury of toying about with all of this crap. And to the last poster? about him "seeing" Tila Tequila? No. She's seeing that ugly dude Ray-J and she said so recently on her site.
I don't know... musically, Siamese Dream was absolutely stellar. But I haven't been able to tolerate listening to his singing voice after that CD. Maybe he should find a new singer, stick to lead guitar and production and try to stay ahead of the curve with something RELEVANT.
I'd like to see him come out opposed in conflict with Courtney Love instead of staying friends with her. I'd like to hear if he knows any secrets about the Cobain conspiracies. Give us a reason to care again...
