Under the moniker of the Younger Lovers, Bay Area singer-songwriter Brontez Purnell records tiny tunes about epic heartbreak. On December 10, Purnell’s passion project will release its third album, Sugar in My Pocket, a 12-track helping of lo-fi, lovesick power-pop. “If you let me down, let me down easy,” Purnell sings on LP highlight “Ballad of Two Stubborn Men,” before throwing his arms up on the cheekily titled “I Can’t (Kim) Deal With It.” Split the difference between garage-rock grime and malt shop romance by streaming all of Sugar in My Pocket below.
