Back in February, Sam Roberts Band’s funky “Shapeshifters” inspired New Yorkers to loosen up and dance their way through subway stations. Now, the Canadian quintet’s Lo-Fantasy opener has received the remix treatment from with fellow Canucks Young Galaxy.
This new version of “Shapeshifters” contains the electronic buzzes and whirs found in the original, but this redux is less about cymbal-crashing dance-rock, and more about sleek keys, hand claps, bongo beats, and glitchy, stuttering vocals.
