Young Buck on the Stand

As a result of the fracas that took place between rapper Young Buck and civilian Jimmy James Johnson at last November’s Vibe Awards, Buck stand trial on an assault charge, a California judge ruled. According to the Associated Press, Buck must appear in court today (June 7) for his arraignment. Buck allegedly stabbed Johnson while trying to defend Dr. Dre. The melee started when Johnson reportedly punched Dre in the face because the good Doctor refused to sign an autograph, setting off a short-lived brawl. According to a New York Post report in January, Johnson claimed that Death Row CEO Marion “Suge” Knight paid him $5,000 and forgave some debt in exchange for throwing the punch. If Buck is convicted of the assault, he could spend up to eight years in prison, whereupon he would emerge as middle-aged Buck.
