The xx, taking cues from Björk and Lady Gaga, have unveiled an interactive app to complement their SPIN Essentials sophomore album, Coexist. Available through Apple’s App Store and the Android Market, the free software allows fans to watch exclusive High-Definition videos for every song on the band’s newest record while reading the album’s lyrics. Users can also toy around with a touch-sensitive version of the Coexist artwork, see all of the xx’s official music videos, get tour dates and tickets, access the group’s online store, and receive updates and news straight from the London trio.
Sorry, there isn’t a way to witness this app go viral, but the program can be downloaded to the Android, iPhone, iPad, and iPad Mini, which launched Friday (November 2). The xx, who had to cancel several U.S. performances because of “super” storm Sandy, will return to the States in 2013 to make up two of the nixed gigs and play a slew of other shows (dates below).
