The Wombats' 'Disco' Dances

Though they've named themselves after an Australian marsupial, the men of the Wombats are actually from Liverpool. The trio moves much faster than their sluggish namesake as well, both in their frenetic music and their professional trajectory. Despite forming only two years ago, they've already been garnering attention stateside (like during a recent jaunt to SXSW) for their potent brand of dance-driven punk pop. The upcoming single "Backfire at the Disco" shimmies with production by Jimmy Robertson (Klaxons/Simian Mobile Disco) and mixmaster Steve Harris (Kaiser Chiefs/The Automatic). If you miss out on our exclusive download, don't panic (! at the disco). "Backfire at the Disco", in all its bouncy British brilliance, will be available for purchase through iTunes on April 9.
