Last week, Spin magazine and Music Nation's online challenge in search of the next breakout rock act, the Hot Pursuit, collected 16 winners from eight weeks of heated competition for the quarterfinals. Now after a solid week of battle, eights bands remain. Starting today, quarterfinals winners the Jetsetting, the Fire and Reason, the Soldier Thread, Ainjel Emme, Victorian Halls, the Scarlet, the Features, and Some Random Band will kick off the semifinals competition, all vying for a sought after seat in the Hot Pursuit's final round, slated to begin Dec. 10 at 12 A.M.
