The Who to Perform at Super Bowl XLIV
News
British rock legends the Who are reportedly confirmed to headline television's biggest event of the year -- the Super Bowl. According to Sports Illustrated blogger Jimmy Traina, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, and the rest of the Who's current lineup will rock the halftime show Feb. 7, 2010, at Miami's Land Shark Stadium, although the National Football League and CBS, who'll broadcast the game, have yet to confirm the report.
It certainly isn't the first time an international band has starred on the biggest day annually in American sports: U2, the Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney are all halftime show alumni -- and a few of them made our list of the five most memorable Super Bowl halftime shows of all time.
But should someone else get the call? Watch ESPN's Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon debate the subject below -- Tony's vote goes for Taylor Swift, and Wilbon doesn't even know the smallest detail about the Who -- then post your comments: Who would you like to see taking the stage at the big game?

Never mind the sex offender stuff. What people do not realize is that Pete Townsend put a stop to most of the underage smut on the internet. His book was about "how easy it was to download child **** on the internet" If you would read between the lines, you would realize that Pete Townsend has done nothing but criticize the authorities. This is why the authories took so long to come forward and say that Pete Townsend reported the site for teh content. The only thing Pete Townsend was guilty of was arrogance, because he is not a cop, although his intentions were good from the beginning. And we will just continue to pay taxes to people that really do not care about their jobs.
PS. The Who are still great and will put on a great show.

You have GOT to be ****ing kidding me. I shudder with embarrassment for the youth of today. You don't have to be born before 1980 to know and appreciate The Who, fer Chrissakes. Their influence is everywhere; their music as timeless and inspiring today as it was groundbreaking and jaw-droppingly amazing then. Go to YouTube and watch a clip from Quadraphenia or Tommy, for starters--that ought to whet your appetite, if not shake you into some sort of realization that everything you're listening to today, virtually, is some sort of bull**** sampled remix of true greatness.
For shame.

"I don't know who The Who is. I don't know their music. I don't know anything about anything they've done."
--Michael Wilbon
You may not look like "rock," but we all know what you have in your head.
