Wes Anderson has long celebrated a certain strain of music in his movies, and now an indie-leaning cast of musical acts will be returning the favor. As Pitchfork points out, I Saved Latin!: A Tribute to Wes Anderson is on the way as a two-CD set in spring 2014 via American Laundromat Records. The compilation consists of covers of songs from Anderson's movies Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Nothing is mentioned so far from last year's Moonrise Kingdom, but that film is named in the cover art, so stay tuned. Among the likely highlights at this point: Black Francis' take on Love's "Seven and Seven Is" (despite the Pixies frontman's troubles with the song's outro), Kristin Hersh's rendition of Nick Drake's "Fly," Juliana Hatfield's version of Elliott Smith's "Needle in the Hay," and other covers from Mike Watt & the Secondmen, Generationals, Elk City, Telekinesis, and Santah.

The track list isn't finalized yet, and Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel opens early next year, so there's still time for a Kanye West appearance. Everyone knows Cat Stevens sings "The Wind" — what this tribute presupposes is... maybe he didn't? Check out various options for pre-order goodies here.
