Wax Fang will touch down on January 28 with The Astronaut, a three-movement space-rock opera that follows a slew of digital singles (including last year's glam-tastic "The Blonde Leading the Blonde"). According to the Louisville duo's official website, the fast-approaching full-length concerns "the fate of a lone space traveler who is separated from his vessel, swallowed by a black hole, and transformed into a celestial super being."

If it helps, just consider the project the latest genre exercise from an ambitious pair of oddballs who have dabbled in fantasy and horror with recent music videos. Speaking of which, above you'll find a trailer teasing The Astronaut's imminent arrival. Watch the blast-off, then pre-order the album through iTunes or Wax Fang's online store.
