Wavves main brain Nathan Williams has designed his very own shoe for Nike. After all, a King of the Beach and SPIN cover star should have something nice to put on his feet. Plus he wouldn’t want to be outdone by Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis, whose shoemaking swag is decidedly pimpish. The acrophobic young Angeleno shared a few photos on Instagram yesterday showing off the handsome blue suede-and-leather kicks. “omgomgomg!!,” he added.
The ankle-topping sneakers include the word “Wavves” embroidered on the back and a zipper on the side. As Exclaim points out, it’s not yet clear whether these shoes will be available for public consumption. Williams’ girlfriend and Best Coast frontwoman Bethany Cosentino has collaborated with Converse in the past, so let’s hope his new allegiance doesn’t create any trouble in paradise. Their cat-child Snacks the Cat isn’t concerned:
