On Monday, “I Might,” a brand new song from Wilco’s September album The Whole Love, dropped online. And Tuesday we get video of the Chicago band playing a pair of fresh jams –“Dawned on Me” and “Born Alone” — at their Solid Sound Festival last weekend. Aren’t they generous? Watch below.
The new tracks suggest that Wilco have headed in a rollicking, good times rock’n’roll direction for their upcoming release. “Born Alone” is a driving number with anthemic guitar lines courtesy of Nels Cline. “Dawned on Me” is an upbeat number with a solid backbeat, organ accompaniment, and a whistling bit from frontman Jeff Tweedy. Can September come soon enough?
