Watch ‘Weird Al’ and Jack Black’s ‘Tacky’ Take on Pharrell’s ‘Happy’

Weid Al Yankovich Pharrell Happy Tacky Video Jack Black

Potentate of parody “Weird Al” Yankovic has launched an #8videos8days campaign for his upcoming album, Mandatory Fun, and the first entry is the faux pas filled “Tacky,” a comedic remodling remodling of Pharrell’s “Happy.” Following our host and his friends through the historic Palace Theatre in Los Angeles (or is that Julianne Moore’s apartment in The Big Lebowski?), the camera catches Jack Black, Modern Family‘s Eric Stonestreet, Kristen Schaal, Margaret Cho, and Aisha Tyler wearing thoroughly tasteless duds and mouthing the words.

We get a hilarious list of what is means to be tacky in the 21st century, from sporting Ed Hardy, to tweeting at funerals, to “Instagram[ing] every meal I’ve had.” As Al says, “can’t nothing bring me shame.” This first taste arrives via Nerdist, with a marathon of videos yet to come. The roster of spoofs on Al’s 14th album includes Lorde’s “Royals,” Iggy’s “Fancy,” Imagine Dragon’s “Radioactive,” Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” and more, and the prankster promises only the best kind of funny business: “I think its my best album to date.” Doesn’t he know bragging is tacky?
