Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig on Letterman
Peter Gaston

After premiering their entire new album, Contra, online via MySpace yesterday, NYC indie rockers Vampire Weekend took to the small screen last night, stopping by The Late Show with David Letterman to perform album track "Cousins." Watch the video below!

The chipper cut opens with a sub-Saharan boogie, bolstered by Chris Tomson's frenetic drum fills and punctuated by Rostam Batmanglij's surf guitar riffs.

Their appearance ended with the customary handshake from Letterman, and while killing time before the show ended, the cagey host fumbled his announcement of Contra's release date -- "In stores today? Tomorrow? Next week!" -- much to frontman Ezra Koenig's chagrin.
