WATCH: Thom Yorke’s All-Star Band Kick Off U.S. Tour

Thom Yorke’s new supergroup Atoms for Peace kicked off their debut tour last night at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom, and previewed a brand new song! The band also played tracks off the Radiohead frontman’s solo album, 2006’s The Eraser. Check out performance videos below!

The quintet — featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Mauro Refosco (Forro in the Dark) and drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, Smashing Pumpkins, R.E.M.) — made their live debut at a secret L.A. show last fall. Read SPIN’s review here.

According to Brooklyn Vegan, Yorke emerged by himself for an encore that included a somber new song, “Chris Hodge/Let Me Take Control,” which showcased his smooth tenor and repetitive, ominous guitar licks. Earlier, The Eraser’s “Skip Divided” showed off the band’s energetic side, with Yorke jumping around onstage and Flea head banging away. Watch fan videos of both below.

Atoms for Peace play a second night at Roseland tonight, and hit a few more U.S. cities before playing Coachella on April 18. Check out the band’s complete list of tour dates here.
