Love is war -- at least in recent Rihanna videos. "Hard," the latest clip off Rated R, maintains the hard-edged visuals of the video for "Russian Roulette," except this time, she's commanding a paramilitary force. Watch below.
Donning an array of military-themed outfits, each with varying degrees of undress -- think Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" meets Christina Aguilera's "Dirrrty" phase -- Rihanna vamps in dimly lit outposts, dodges explosions in the desert, and, quite enticingly, takes a break from boot camp to smother herself with mud. Morale-boosting, indeed!
Joining Rihanna's coalition force is Young Jeezy, who drops a great verse in his fantastically raspy drone -- and takes his style cues from Dr. Dre's Mad Max-like getup in the "California Love" video. "He definitely brings that hard, thug edge to it," Rihanna told MTV.
