Here’s a reason to start DVR’ing The View: Prince dropped by the morning chatfest yesterday to talk about his upcoming string of shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden — and the hosts, including Sherri Shepherd, looked absolutely stunned by his surprise drop-in. Watch below.
What do we learn from the rare television appearance? Not much — but it was a hoot to see rock’s most famous lothario functioning at such an early hour. “These are strange hours for rock stars,” said Prince, looking bad ass in a sharp black suit and dark, tinted sunglasses. The rock star then dropped off some tickets for the hosts, before talking up his MSG shows: “There will be a whole array of special guests, and a band that plays like a jackhammer.”
Prince didn’t mill about for too long — but it’s not like he’s too cool to get grilled by Barbara Walters. “I’m gonna leave you all,” he said. “I haven’t had breakfast yet.”
