Don’t expect Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder to fuel up his car at BP anytime soon.

The former SPIN cover boys just released a music video for “Amongst the Waves,” from their 2009 release Backspacer, and their message is clear: don’t mess with the ocean, dude, it’s beautiful. Watch below or buy it from iTunes.

The clip is a celebration of the big blue, with video of dolphins, surfers, sea birds, crashing waves, and swimmers edited together with black and white footage of the band playing the rock anthem live in concert. “I am up riding high amongst the waves where I can feel like I have a soul that can be saved / Where I can feel like I’ve put away my early grave,” EdVed sings.

At the end of the video, the good vibes end with images of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the words, “There is only one ocean for everyone. Look after it for present and future generations.”

The proceeds from the sale of PJ’s “Amongst the Waves” video go to Conservation International’s Marine Programs, which encourages societies to live responsibly with nature by protecting climates, fresh water, oceans, and food. The clip is just one part of the Seattle band’s initiative to encourage a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. On their website, the quintet also offer 11 pointers on how to reduce your own personal carbon footprint, including “Clean up your local beaches.”
