Watch Oakley Hall Live!

Check out video of the country-tinged six-piece's performance at Brooklyn's McCarren Park Pool.

Performing in their own backyard, under the watchful eye of label boss and Superchunk principal Mac McCaughan (watch live!), New York City's Oakley Hall brought an unfamiliar yet warmly welcomed roots rock and country sentiment to Brooklyn's McCarren Park Pool on a toasty Sunday afternoon in late June. But before taking the stage, Oakley Hall's Pat Sullivan and Rachel Cox stepped backstage with Spin Deputy Editor Steve Kandell for a brief chat, one which touched upon a myriad of topics; the role of humorous banter on their last tour opening for Bright Eyes, the release of I'll Follow You, the band's Merge debut LP, and the advantages of performing at McCarren Pool: "the big natural reverb," says Sullivan, while Cox opts to utilize the stage as the "perfect position to people watch."
